Respiratory Care Assistant 3/12 or 7/7 Schedule

Job Opening Summary

Performs diagnostic procedures, including ECG, pulse oximetry, rhythm strips and 24-hour Holter monitor hook-ups. Sets up and assists with stress testing and processing respiratory equipment as needed. Processes job-related paperwork. Enters charges for procedures performed. Assists in timely and safe supply processing and distribution of equipment. Has the ability to work flexible hours/shifts, inclusive of weekends and holidays. Attention to detail as it pertains to patients, procedures, equipment and supplies.

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of EKG course preferred.
  • Experience in performing EKG, 24-hour Holter and event monitoring desired.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Aptitude to work with mechanical devices.

Skills and Specific Job Knowledge:.

  • Effective verbal and written skills.
  • An ability and willingness to function under the direction of the RCA supervisor and ALP to meet patient care needs in a dynamic work environment.
  • An ability and willingness to work with patients of all ages and developmental needs.
  • An ability and willingness to work with patients experiencing acute, chronic and complex disease processes, including those that are terminally ill.
  • A positive attitude towards health care team members and diverse patient populations.
  • Evidence of good physical and emotional health.

Minimum Pay Rate - Hourly: $16.55
Midpoint Pay Rate - Hourly: $19.18
