Job Opening Summary

Oversees technical operations in the relevant clinical lab section, including technical support of laboratory operations, problem resolution, technical development and procedure implementation, purchasing, etc. Supervises preparation of specimens for analysis. Performs analytical procedures when required. Responsible for quality assurance functions, including data collection, analysis and reporting. Assumes operational responsibility during manager's absence.
 

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology; bachelor's degree and one year as a medical laboratory technician; 90 semester hours of college credit with 24 semester hours of academic science and completion of an approved clinical laboratory training program; or associate's degree and appropriate combination of training and experience.
  • Please seek licensure guidance by reviewing up-to-date licensure qualifications from the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel.


Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Must possess either a temporary or current license as a State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the specialty(ies) required for the job.


Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "frequent driver."

NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.



Minimum Pay Rate - Hourly: $29.03
Midpoint Pay Rate - Hourly: $39.79
