Job Opening Summary

Assesses, plans and implements recreational therapy approaches and assists in outcome evaluation of psychiatric and/or substance abuse patients. Works with patients and families within an interdisciplinary team model. Provides therapeutic and educational activities utilizing individual and group modalities. Responsible for documentation in accordance with JCAHO and hospital standards.

Must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2 screening for this position.
 

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in recreation therapy, therapeutic recreation, art therapy, rehabilitation therapy or related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in a broad range of therapy services preferred.
  • Experience working with psychiatric and/or addiction patient population preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory accreditation standards preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of the disciplines represented on a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact collaboratively and effectively within the team paradigm.
  • Basic computer literacy in Windows and word processing applications preferred.
  • Certification in RT preferred.


Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist preferred.


Minimum Pay Rate - Hourly: $21.06
Midpoint Pay Rate - Hourly: $26.31
